Officine Saffi is a new exhibition space in downtown Milan. From the street of the same name, Via Saffi, between Cadorna and Conciliazione, the renowned institution dedicated to ceramics-founded by Laura Borghi in 2011-is moving to the Chinatown area.
The new facility includes not only new exhibition spaces but also workshops for educational activities and pottery classes and an apartment for resident artists.
It is a charming space, located in the courtyard of a quaint 20th-century building that housed first a printing press and latterly a mechanic’s workshop.
The large space is white, bright and elegant, enhanced by excellent natural light from the spectacular glass roof.
All the windows and doors were made of the distinctive FerroFinestra, painted matte white.
